2008 has been a year, 13-year-old motorcycle racer, Brody Nowlan (pictured right) will not forget.
The local junior, who made the switch from dirt bikes to road racing this year, has achieved superb results on the track.
Met and hung out with idol and Australian motorbike champion Casey Stoner at his farm near Tamworth - one of only five riders from New South Wales and Queensland offered a spot at a three-day boot camp.
And, in two weeks time the fast blooded youngster has been invited to the World Championship Moto GP where he will take part in a parader’s lap as a warm up to the main event before taking front row seats in the pits, at no cost, to watch the race action.
He may even get a chance to catch up with new friend and mentor, Mr Stoner.
“You can’t buy tickets to go in there, it’s awesome a dream come true,” he said excitedly.
2008 has been a year of opportunities for Nowlan since joining the national junior series, the Motorcycle Road Race Development Association Series (MRRDA), the switch to road racing proving an exciting one.
In his rookie season, Nowlan finished fourth overall in the Honda CBR 150 class for riders 13 to 16-years. He was one of the youngest riders in his class at 13-years-of -age.
With the season now wrapped up, Nowlan will head to Phillip Island on October 5 for the World Moto GP.
Watch out for this talented youngster coming to your TV screens soon.
