Getaway host Giaan Rooney jumped on the back of wife carrying champion, Anthony Partridge to compete in the event at Singleton Showground in March.

All the festivities of Countryfest were filmed by the Channel 9 production crew and since then Countryfest organisers have been waiting to see the program.

At the time Giaan said it was one of the more unusual events she had been asked to take part in but she enjoyed every minute.

There will be many local faces on the television program and the national television exposure will mean there will be even more people attending the event in 2009 adding to the Countryfest success story.
